Gary joined the Thunder in 2008 the inaugural season for the Thunder. He led the Varsity team in rushing with 957 yards and was the most dynamic Kick/Punt Returner in the league (7 returns for TD). His great play both at RB/Safety and sometimes QB helped the team reach the 2nd round of the playoffs. In 2009 he returned and help lead the Thunder to their first championship game in team history, and he had the game clinching Interception at The Golden State Bowl in Palmdale, California
At Tokay Norwood was a 1st-Team All-Tri-City Athletic League selection and a The Record 1st-Team All-Area member as a defensive back last fall. He was chosen as the Tokay team MVP and was named to the Lion's Football All-Star squad after leading the Tigers with 100 tackles, 32 receptions, 500 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. He also tied the school record for most tackles in one game (26).
The Panthers were 8-2 last season and won the NCCAA Victory Bowl. The Division III school is a four-year Christian College of 1,600 students that is located about 45 minutes outside of St. Louis.
It is the mission of Thunder Youth Football & Cheer, to provide all of it's student athletes with a positive experience playing football/cheer. We want to create a family atmosphere where coaches are about and value each player. We hope to develop young men/women of strong character who strive to excel in the classroom and on the football field. It is our mission to build champions for life who possess the following life skills: commitment, responsibility, discipline, work ethic, positive attitude and teamwork.
